Air Flights
If you’re looking to get to Cape Cod via an air flight, you can do it either by going to the Provincetown Airport or to the Barnstable Airport. Once you’re there, you can either take one of the buses that go to Cape Cod or a taxi. Another option would be to get to the Boston airport and take a ferry to Provincetown. There aren’t any large planes servicing Cape Cod. There is only one commercial airline that does it with small planes.
The first airport and the only one on Cape Cod that has commercial flights is Provincetown Airport, which is found a couple of miles from Provincetown’s business district. The town operates this airport and it uses it for general aviation purposes, plus the base for Cape Air, the airline that has non-stop flights from Boston Airport to Provincetown Airport. These flights take 25 minutes. When the season isn’t in, the airline only does three flights each day, for each of the ways. During the weekends of the summer, you can get a flight to any of the two ways every 45 minutes. You can get taxis once you’re at Provincetown Airport from the terminal’s front area.
The second airport on Cape Cod is Barnstable Airport, which is found 1 mile from Hyanni’s business district. Barnstable Town is the owner of this airport, which is used mostly for general aviation and for charter flights, but for commercial flights as well. This airport is a hub for the Cape Cod area and the Nantucket and Martha’s Vineyard islands.
